And if your calendar is flexible, it gets better. Homeschooling comes with a built-in advantage: you don't have to wait for a long weekend everybody else is also using. Sunday through Thursday nights at Mi Vida Loca are priced well below weekend nights — enough that a four-night midweek stay often costs less than two weekend nights. Your 15% comes off on top of that. Midweek is also simply better for learning. The trails at Beavers Bend State Park are quiet, Nature Center staff have time to actually answer a curious eight-year-old, and the wildlife is out because the crowds aren't.
